Beatport and Pioneer announce partnership

Beatport today announces a new partnership with Pioneer that will give DJs who purchase Pioneer's groundbreaking CDJ-400 player a free $10 Beatport gift card. The multi-purpose nature of the CDJ-400, which is able to play CDs and MP3 files from USB drives, as well as control computer based DJ software like Traktor, makes it one of the most powerful tools available for digital DJs.

DJ Madskillz sounds like he might be a hip hop DJ with baggy jeans and a cap on sideways yo, but he is in fact a fairly well turned out Dutch lad with an impeccable sense for forward thinking, body rocking tech house. As his new 'Down The Rabbit Hole' EP proves, this guy has got mad skills in the studio (I couldn't resist).

America’s Best DJ 2009 vote begins

Voting for the fourth annual America's Best DJ poll has begun, which aims to recognise the best DJ talent Stateside. The yearly vote was launched because, "America’s Best DJ gives US-based DJs a chance to shine just as brightly as their European contemporaries. The US is the birthplace of dance music, the origin of club culture, and the biggest entertainment market in the world. Its DJs deserve a contest of their own."
