Video: Art of Trance ‘Swarm’

Posted: 23 Apr 2009 08:40 AM PDT

Here's the video for Art of Trance's phenomenal new single 'Swarm', which is one of the most original and unique trance tracks to hit the scene recently. With its squiggly lead acid line, lack of a giant euphoric breakdown, and understated drums, 'Swarm' reminds me of the very early days of trance when deep hypnotism was the main aim of the music. This is the kind of trance that made me fall in love with the genre all those years ago. No wonder Simon Berry aka Art of Trance took three years to release it!

As Dutch techno pioneer Speedy J explains, the music of France's Terence Fixmer is a fusion between "industrial, techno, minimal and EBM", as proven by his new 'Machine' EP on Speedy's Electric Deluxe. It's raw and radical techno, right from the bleeding edge of the machine world, and it'll scare the bejesus out of most people.

Video: Moby ‘Shot In The Back Of The Head’

Posted: 22 Apr 2009 09:02 AM PDT

When you think of Moby you imagine a peace-loving vegan super-blogger without a dark or malicious bone in his body. However, as this video for his new single 'Shot In The Back Of The Head' shows, the Grammy-winning producer does have a bit of a dark side. He teamed up with four times Oscar-nominated director David Lynch for the film which has all the darkness and paranoia one would rationally associate with such a suggestion.
