Coming from one half of the production outfit and label Murk who are said to have helped define the house sound of the the '90s, particularly in Miami, we can expect that this one is destined to drop like an A-bomb on Miami's dancefloors if this veteran's instincts are in place. Do away with all wholesome thoughts of sun and surf here, as this one feels more like the beginnings of a long night, with grit, grime and danger to boot. |

The compilation will feature two discs: a house and techno mix from Felix Martin, Al Doyle, Joe Goddard and Max Cooper will make up the first 'Bugged Out' disc, and then the second will be a mish mash of a little bit of everything, featuring Alexis Taylor, Owen Clarke and Joe working their magic. |

| Innervisions offer pre-gig Ableton workshop Posted: 11 Mar 2009 10:04 AM PDT Dixon and Henrik Schwarz are set to lead a pre-event Ableton workshop as part of the upcoming Easter weekend meeting between Innervisions and Secretsundaze. Taking place at The Coronet Theatre in London on April 9th, the gig will also see the debut UK performance from A Critical Mass, the live collaboration guise of Ame, Dixon and Schwarz. The quartet performed together for only the first time in October of last year, with appearances at Popkomm in Berlin and ADE in Amsterdam. |
| Traktor DJ Competition: Warm up for Dubfire at WMC Posted: 10 Mar 2009 03:54 PM PDT Today venerable techno spinner Dubfire has launched a DJ competition for his Traktor-sponsored SCI-TEC party at Miami's forthcoming WMC. "Every year I struggle to find a DJ to play the opener of my party as the guys I book I normally want to showcase at the peak hours," Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire told me. "So I want to give a SCI-TEC fan the chance to open the room and showcase their talents, in the hopes that maybe it will inspire them to pursue a career in music." | WMC Track: Psycatron ‘Takefive’ Posted: 06 Mar 2009 08:06 AM PST Whilst much of WMC is about sunshine and summery vibes, the marathon parties and levels of intoxication amongst attendees generates some pretty heated late nights. There will be an abundance of driving dark house and techno in those wee hours, and you can bet that the devastating peak-time breakdown of Psycatron's 'Takefive' will be heard rattling out of mainroom soundsystems a few times during the conference. |
