| Showtek and Kidd Kaos Essential Mix Posted: 09 Mar 2009 08:09 PM PDT In honor of the Hard Dance Awards that took place in Leeds last week, this week's Essential Mix showcases the skills of two of the genre's strongest talent, Showtek [pictured] and Kidd Kaos. Winner of this year's Best DJ award, Dutch duo Showtek also took the crown for Best Track with their hit ‘Hold Us Back’, following up last year's victory in the same category. 'Best New Face' went to Kidd Kaos, a 20-year-old DJ and producer hailing from Cornwall who also co-heads the ‘Trancefuzion Collective’ (TFC) record label and has been busy carving out a musical path for himself for seven years now. In the video, Nate argues that this little known break became the basis for all drum & bass and jungle, and it was sampled extensively in early hip hop.
