Win tickets to this Saturday’s Fabric

Beatportal and London clubbing institution Fabric have teamed up to offer four pairs of tickets for this Saturday's (7th March) event. Even by the club's own sky-high standards, Saturday's line-up is something of a jaw-dropper. Starting from the top, Room 1 will host the long-overdue debut of Mannheim house hero Johnny D, with Radio Slave and the ever-excellent Craig Richards also in attendance.

Video: The six second break that shaped the world

In this fascinating 20 minute video, Nate Harrison narrates the history of the 'Amen Break', an obscure six-second drum sample for the b-side of a chart topping single from 1969. In the video, Nate argues that this little known break became the basis for all drum & bass and jungle, and it was sampled extensively in early hip hop. In other words, these six seconds shaped the modern music world as we know it.
