Shot in 1983, Wilson's 'fro looks hilariously from another era, but the core messages about basic mixing still hold true. Interestingly, TV presenter Jools Holland asks Wilson "You get records and actually change them about...don't you think that might annoy, like the scratching thing, the people that spent all the time making the records?", which is a statement that could very easily apply in the digital era. Robert Dietz Posted: 27 Feb 2009 09:02 AM PST We recently named Frankfurt's Robert Dietz as one of our 'Artists to Watch' in 2009, as he seemingly came out of nowhere to land on some of the scene's hottest labels including Cecille, be chosen and Deep Vibes in the latter half of 2008. A proponent of the eternal clubbing maxim 'house is a feeling', Dietz seemed to arrive on the scene fully formed, showcasing his firm understanding of aesthetics through his chunky loop-based deep house/tech house tracks. We decided to corner Robert Dietz and peek into his record box. Unsurprisingly, we found tracks from the deepest corners of the house camp, and several secret treasures. |
