Hervé aka the Count Essential Mix Posted: 23 Feb 2009 07:23 PM PST Hervé, also known as the Count, Voodoo Chilli, Action Man, Dead Soul Brothers, Speaker Junk and Young Lovers, drops his hard-hitting Essential Mix for Radio 1 this week in a barrage of non-stop ghetto electro madness. With a Lily Allen remix recently under his belt and a collaboration with DJ Sneak forthcoming on Cr2 Records, the label boss of Cheap Thrills Records tears up the airwaves with a searing blend of garage electro noise, bass-heavy club hits and a dash of nearly every other subgenre thrown in for good measure.
A-Trak keeps it real for Fabriclive 45 Posted: 23 Feb 2009 04:06 PM PST Today A-Trak spoke about his forthcoming mix CD for London club Fabric, which is no.45 in the Fabriclive series. As former DMC World DJ champion and a Kanye West tour DJ, A-Trak approached the mix from his own unique, scratch master style that somehow manages to see classic house, funk, hip hop, electro house and disco dance happily together.
Posted: 23 Feb 2009 01:37 PM PST After dropping his debut album on Hospital Records last year, the Byrd-man from Bath has been busy on remix duties applying his brand of soulful, rave-style beats to a plethora of big time tunes, with this r&b pop treat being the first for 2009. With High Contrast remixing Eric Prydz, Adele, MGMT and literally everyone else under the sun, it seems that liquid-style drum & bass remixes, a la Hospital Records, are the current plat de jour.

Josh Wink at Rex Club in Paris Posted: 23 Feb 2009 09:01 AM PST After two well rested days in Paris, Josh Wink jumps back on the DJ wagon with a late night techno set at the city's infamous Rex club alongside resident wonder jock D'Julz. In this episode of Josh Wink's European tour blog, he discovers the importance of turning off bluetooth on his laptop whilst DJing, and experiences a lock in backstage at Rex in the same area that Troy Pierce recently found himself alone in a toilet for an hour (Rex might have some sort of DJ curse). Wink also bumps into his old friend Tiga, and plays to a room full of clubbers crudely touting bananas.
Ibiza International Music Summit gets serious Posted: 23 Feb 2009 02:12 AM PST Pete Tong launched Ibiza's International Music Summit last summer, and by most accounts, it was a very successful micro networking event for electronic music. The 2009 edition however looks set to eclipse last year's event considerably, if the first whisperings of confirmed keynote speakers is anything to go by.
