Deadmau5 & Kaskade’s ‘Move For Me’ video

Posted: 23 Jan 2009 02:36 PM CST

Ultra have just released the official video for Deadmau5 and Kaskade's 'Move For Me' hit from last summer - the single was the first track to be taken from Kaskade's studio album 'Strobelight Seduction'. It's quite unusual for a record label to release a video for a track seven months after the album was released but presumably 'Move For Me' is gaining mainstream popularity, at least enough to garner a polished MTV friendly video.

Posted: 23 Jan 2009 10:38 AM CST

The people behind Berlin's Bar25 may currently be fighting their looming eviction, but that hasn't stopped them from uploading a Top 10 DJ chart to Beatport, which showcases the kind of fun, wonky music they like to have on at their legendary afterhours spot. With tracks from Dima, Daniel Dreier and Tom Clark, the Bar25 To Hibernate (you have to admire their optimism) chart is filled with quality techno and minimal. They surely will be missed.

Posted: 23 Jan 2009 05:42 AM CST

Rob Da Bank has been chosen to compile the latest in the ‘Sci-Fi Lo-Fi’ series on Soma Recordings. A spin-off from the popular ‘Sci-Fi Hi-Fi’ mixes, the series gives the artist free rein over track selection, with dance cuts comfortably rubbing shoulders with dub and indie tracks. Da Bank's effort continues in the same eclectic vein as previous releases by Andrew Weatherall and most recently Damian Lazarus.

What’s your funeral song?

Posted: 22 Jan 2009 09:36 PM CST

Get Physical Music are about to drop their new 'Final Song' compilation on February 6th, which is a collection of tracks chosen by famous dance music artists that they would like to have played at their funeral. It's a macabre theme, but with Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson, Laurent Garnier and Francois K all having chipped in with their chosen swan songs we thought it would be fun to open up the roll call of funeral music requests to Beatportal's users. What track would you like to have played at your funeral?
