If your grandma went clubbing, she might write this

Posted: 15 Jan 2009 01:58 PM CST

Bless the Daily Mail newspaper, and its voice of 'Middle England'. Recently the paper's 65-year-old columnist Joanna Trollope, visited a 'funky house' music club event in order to understand the "impenetrably foreign" world of modern dance music for a character in her new novel, Friday Nights. Her findings, which were printed on the newspaper's website at the end of December, are rather amusing. It's the kind of thing your grandma might have written, had she decided to go clubbing to see what all the fuss was about.

No wonder then, that Roska is a proper Londoner and a former UK garage boy.

Dirty Disco Lovr - Wasabi

Posted: 14 Jan 2009 05:01 PM CST

It's always exciting to stumble across some fresh, forward-thinking electro house, and this superb, bass-in-your-face rework of Wasbi's 'Dirty Disco Lovr' by Cape Town resident The Bulgarian (the first track in the player), takes things down a more fun, less arpeggiated path with a stripped back, rolling electro groove. Phat, it is.
