Although incorporating acts from across the musical board, the list picks up on a trend first mentioned a few weeks back in UK broadsheet The Guardian regarding the rise of the female electro pop star. The paper prophesied that the waves of white male guitar bands that have dominated the charts in recent years were set to be replaced by a fresh influx of laptop-wielding female stars, predominately in their early 20s. |
