| Can the GMS give WMC a focal point? Posted: 25 Feb 2009 01:00 AM PST A Community whisper today alerted us to the (optimistically named) Global Media Summit, which is set to take place on 27th March at South Seas Hotel. Its organisers are touting the GMS as "a one-stop press magnet where the media can find the artists that are making today’s global headlines while the artists can get their messages about their music to the media all in one great event location". Sounds great on paper, as the WMC has for years lacked a focal point for industry networking, however many observers will point out that WMC's business networking ideals are enjoying the peripheries far too much to be centralised. |

Filmed beside a shimmering body of water, the video features poignant images of windswept women moving to the song's slow burning subtlety. His reputation precedes him wherever he goes - his unique skills and mixing wizardry are second to none - but beyond his live remixing and incessant button pushing there is a deeper musical knowledge that almost guarantees every Zabiela set will invariably have some upfront major dancefloor slayers. And indeed James Zabiela's new 'The Masters Series' mix for Renaissance is full of chunky, electro tech records and whopping basslines, but there are also deeper, more graceful moments to the compilation.
