| Seven reasons to attend Bloc Festival Posted: 18 Feb 2009 08:18 AM CST The organisers behind the UK's Bloc Festival (March 13th - 15th 2009) approach their line-up from an impressively informed perspective - a bland list of obvious, crowd pleasing megastars it ain't. Ital Tek, Pole, Beardyman, October, Otto Von Schirach and Pinch are all playing at Bloc, and all of them have added DJ charts to Beatport ahead of the festival in order to give the public a small taster of what to expect. Obviously they don't mean they've got Pierre Schaeffer, Steve Reich, Raymond Scott and Karlheinz Stockhausen doing a quartet, but with The Prodigy and Orbital headlining there will be something of an old skool flavour to the main stage this year. |
| Samsung announces ‘DJ’ phone, sort of Posted: 17 Feb 2009 05:50 PM CST Mobile phone manufacturer Samsung, announced a new phone yesterday and claims it comes with a DJing music app as standard. The Beat DJ phone offers an enhanced music experience and has Bang and Olufsen technology for rich music playback. It also has a touch spin wheel and an advanced music play user interface, as well as music filters, scratching features and DJ mix recording. |
