| Konrad Black brings Watergate to North America Posted: 29 Jan 2009 11:34 AM CST Wagon Repair label boss Konrad Black will bring a touch of Berlin class to North America in February, to highlight his forthcoming mix CD 'Watergate 03', due out in March. Canadian Black moved to Berlin in 2006, and as a regular guest DJ at the city's Panorama Bar and Watergate clubs, his minimal techno and wobbly tech house sound is more Berlin than anything else. |

| Telefon Tel Aviv’s Charlie Cooper passes away Posted: 27 Jan 2009 03:09 PM CST Charlie Cooper III, one half of the Chicago-based electronic music duo Telefon Tel Aviv, passed away last Thursday. The group's third full length studio album 'Immolate Yourself' was released one day later on Ellen Allien's Bpitch Control. No details have been released of how Cooper died, but his lifelong friend and studio partner Joshua Eustis posted this heartfelt message on the group's Myspace page today: |
| Posted: 27 Jan 2009 01:38 PM CST This week's Weekend Weapons spans the twinned techno cities of Berlin and Detroit by the way of the currently white hot Seth Troxler. Cast your mind back to the beginning of 2008 and Troxler was a relatively unknown force. With only a handful of releases under his belt for Esperanza and Beretta Grey, he began the year with a couple of notable appearances for the massive Spectral Sound imprint before really getting into his stride on the Valt Trax EP with Patrick Russell on Circus Company. The release featured a trio of brooding tech house cuts that began to give some indication towards the wild string of releases Troxler was about to embark on. |
