Techno legends Slam celebrate ten years of Pressure

Beatportal speaks to techno icons Slam as they prepare to celebrate the 10th anniversary of one of dance music’s biggest club nights - Pressure. Pressure hits double figures this weekend, no mean feat when you consider the fickle nature of today’s clubbers. Co-founders of Soma Recordings, Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle better known as Slam launched the monthly event way back in 1998.

Stars showcase Ableton at Ministry of Sound

Next Saturday, 6th December will see music software developer Ableton take over the Baby Box at London's Ministry of Sound for a special one-off event in association with Novation. In a move that's sure to please Ableton enthusiasts, headliner Omid 16b, Mindlobster and Olly B-sides will all be performing using Live 7 and a selection of Novation MIDI controllers with their sets being projected on to a giant video screen in real time.

The Prodigy’s free download disappoints

After the announcement a couple of weeks back that The Prodigy's new LP 'Invaders Must Die' will be released at the beginning of March, the band have decided to fan the flames of hype with a free download of the album's title track. 'Invaders Must Die' became available to download from the band's website just a few minutes ago, and will be up till December 3rd. Our initial thoughts? It's a bit of a disappointment.

Buy Mr. C’s entire vinyl collection on ebay

Legendary British DJ Mr. C, co-founder of The End nightclub in London and ex-frontman of early 90's pop group The Shamen, has put his entire vinyl collection up for sale on eBay with a starting bid of £75,000. Citing an upcoming move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career as the reason for the sale, Mr. C felt it was time to get rid of all 15,000 records, a collection of electronic music which he began building in 1986.
