Are there any McCain electronic music supporters out there?

Posted: 26 Oct 2008 03:58 PM CDT

We here at Beatportal don't do politics, nor are we about to start. But with this whole Presidential Election going on we've received a ton of Obama-supporting DJ mixes and singles, but not a pip squeek from the McCain camp. We decided not to repost any of these mixes until we had received some McCain sponsored mixes and tracks in order to remain fair, but up until this point we've received nothing. Absolutely diddly squat. Which beggars the question: Are there any McCain-supporting electronic music fans out there? Have any of you been inspired enough to create music or mixes based around McCain's speeches? If you've got any linkage to electronic music-related McCain tracks or mixes please do share. Note: this is not a chance to get all political on our ass, we just want the links, thank you.

Viva Tour comes out shooting

Posted: 25 Oct 2008 01:42 AM CDT

The Viva Tour is well underway, and when I join Steve Lawler, Audiofly and Tiefschwarz on their tour bus on Sunday hopefully I'll be able to document some of funny things going on and some of the excellent music that's being played. I'll be blogging live from the Viva Tour bus from Sunday October 26th - Friday 31st October taking in San Francisco, Albuquerque and Dallas as well as countless small towns and freeways, but ahead of that the boys have been sending over their videos which, quite rightly, reveal them to be teetering on the verge of insanity. In one of them, it's revealed that the boys went to a gun store and played around with shotguns and ridiculously large magnums as part of their 'discovery' of the ole' USA. Anyway, try understanding these three videos, if you can. Next week looks like it'll be a lot of fun.
