Weekend Weapons…Marc Romboy

Continuing our new weekly series Weekend Weapons, where we beg the cream of the world's DJing elite to reveal their current top 3, is German DJ Marc Romboy who runs the famous electro and house imprint Systematic. "This past weekend I played at Spartacus club in Aix En Provence, France, where people like Loco Dice, Laurent Garnier and Luciano have spinned this year," said Marc. "The party was one of the best ones of this year and they were a crazy audience!" Here's three records that destroyed Spartacus for Marc Romboy.

Prime Loops launches new website

UK-based Prime Loops recently launched their new website, containing an up-to-date selection of over 20 downloadable sound suites, free remix competitions, and a host of free downloadable music production tutorials, tips & tricks. According to the press release, the Prime Loops team consists of "musicians, sound engineers and technicians, and records in collaboration with musicians and record labels worldwide to deliver new content for music producers." A quick listen to some of the previews gives us the impression that there's some terrific stuff here.

Dutch band Le Le are set to shake up the European dance scene when they drop their debut multi-lingual album 'Flage' on November 3rd, which is cute and not your standard electro pop. Too often in dance music, DJs and producers take themselves far too seriously by Le Le seem to understand that ultimately dance music should be fun party music.

London Blog: Sunday Lunch

Tropicana is the new free Sunday weekly party which kicks off on the 19th October with a fantastic launch party at the Horse and Groom in Shoreditch, where tasty Sunday roasts, fine beverages, cocktails, music, laughter and plenty of disco dancing will be on hand. For today's opening launch party electro funk legend Greg Wilson will be performing a special 4-hour set while the Cosmic Truth boys will be looking after the Parlour upstairs. Then on the 26th of October look out for the Idjut boys and Late Night Audio's Toby Tobias doing the disco with some great guests in the pipeline.

Chakalaka - Wippenberg

Wippenberg is better known for his unique remixes of Super8 & Tab ‘Needs to Feel’ and Cosmic Gate ‘Should’ve Known’ than his own productions, but with his new record ‘Chakalaka’ it looks as though he's on the verge of solo breakthrough. ‘Chakalaka’ is in fact the seventh single release from the German producer, but with massive support from the likes of DJ Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Sander van Doorn, Marco V and Lange, his latest offering is already destined to be a massive hit.
