News | Melt Festival in the City of Steel

The first important thing to know about the Melt Festival experience is the immense presence one feels when surrounded by giant industrial machines from the mid-twentieth century. These machines form the impressive and expansive background for the five stages of amazing music for three days and nights. Ferropolis, “the city of steel" (or iron) is where Melt festival has been for several years, and it is an open air museum near Dessau, Germany. Just to give you an idea of the size of these machines, we’re talking 30 meters high, 120 meters long, and some of them even weigh in at nearly 2000 tons.

Pacha Recordings has big ambitions to become one of the biggest record labels in house music, and with 30 years of Pacha success behind it few will stand in its way. Beatportal caught up with Steve Hulme, Director of Pacha Recordings, and grilled him about the label's big plans and why he thinks it'll be a top 5 label on Beatport before the year is out.

News | Top Track: Tim Toh ‘Two’

Tim Toh's 'Two', apart from being a great example of alliteration, is a quality deep house tool for DJs willing to take chances in their sets. 'Two' on the outset is a painfully slow, bongo led house record, but if you speed it up to about +8% pitch, it rocks. It serves as the perfect beat-drop to lay down vocals or techy rhythms over the top.
