Posted: 21 Jul 2008 09:31 PM CDT

If Beatport Burners are a weekly staple in your musical diet, then your ears are in for a treat. Beatportal is now launching four -- count 'em four -- new podcasts on a biweekly basis, with genres spanning house, trance, drum and bass, and chill out. Similar to the Beatport Burners, Genrecasts are enhanced podcasts featuring the best new releases linked directly for download from Beatport. Kicking off the House Genrecast, this week's podcast features Cue, Crime Club, Robot Man feat. Nanchang Nancy, a Dennis Ferrer remix of The Sunburst Band, Compost, Nervous Records, Strictly Rhythm, and many more. The Genrecast is an 'enhanced' podcast, which means each track in the mix has a track mark and shows the release artwork, meaning when you listen to it in iTunes or your iPod you'll be able to skip through tracks in the mix, see the cover art of each release and you're able to click through to Beatport should you wish to buy the release. It's the easiest way for DJs to do record shopping! We will be bringing you the best new releases out on Beatport of each genre, so check back soon and often for the best tracks. Click through for the first house installment of 15 of the hottest new releases.

Two years ago Renaat Vandepapeliere anounced the re-birth of one the most influential techno labels of all time, his (and Sabine Maes') own R & S Records, which has been defunct since the late nineties. For nearly two years the sole activity of the reborn label-legend was to re-release a big chunk of the countless classics from their back catalogue. New, exclusive material on R & S was promised but it never saw the light of day. Well, in August the wait is over.
