| Korg releases a pink Kaossilator Posted: 20 Dec 2008 12:43 PM CST Korg have unveiled a rather fetching limited edition pink version of their Kaossilator box that allows you to play musical notes and phrases using a touch-screen interface. DJ James Zabiela has been fiddling with a yellow Kaossilator during his DJ sets since the beginning of the year, but Korg designed the pink version for anyone "who wants to stand out from the crowd". |

| Beatportal’s Top 10 Albums of 2008 Posted: 19 Dec 2008 03:39 PM CST There isn’t much we can say that hasn’t already been said about this little lot. As with our Top 10 Singles of the year list we argued long and hard about how to put together our Top 10 Albums of 2008 and, in the end, we gave up trying to please everybody and thought we’d just tell you what we liked. If we’re honest, this isn’t an all-embracing selection of LPs from right across the electronic music spectrum; rather these are 10 albums that pricked up our ears, from artists whom we felt made a difference this year. The dance music album has been a notorious stumbling block for so many producers over the years. Countless artists have tried unsuccessfully to break away from the tried-and-tested dance single format, but we felt in the case of the artists we have selected this year, they all did so effortlessly. We sincerely hope these albums make you feel as sweaty and excited as they did us, but if not, be sure to leave your opinions noisily in the comments section below. |
