Genrecast: Chill Out 08 - Beatport

For this week's installment of the Chill Out Genrecast, we set it off with tracks from Terrence Parker, Kevin Yost, Gramatik, Beat Pharmacy, and more. Similar to the Beatport Burners, the Genrecast is an 'enhanced' podcast, which means each track in the mix has a track mark and shows the release artwork, so when you listen to it in iTunes or on your iPod you'll be able to skip through tracks in the mix, see the cover art of each release and click through to Beatport to buy the release. It's the easiest way for DJs to do record shopping!

Weekend Weapons…Claude VonStroke

This week's Weekend Weapons feature comes from San Francisco's tech house don, Claude VonStroke. As the mastermind behind the Dirtybird and Mothership imprints, VonStroke has helped oversee the release of some of the biggest tech house tracks of the last few years including Style of Eye's recent bomb 'The Big Kazoo' and his own major hit 'Who's Afraid of Detroit'. Video: Riz MC’s fusion of edm and hip hop

When news surfaced that Kanye West had decided to flirt with electronic music on his new album '808 & Heartbreak' we hoped it would be an edgy and electronic-based rap LP, but were disappointed to find that the electronic music elements were nothing more than some hideous vocoded-vocals that sounded like a robot was being sapped of its energy. British rapper Riz MC on the other hand shows exactly how rap and electronic music can be fused on his brilliant new single 'Radar' on Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels. Kanye West, please pay attention.
