| Posted: 18 Nov 2008 03:10 PM CST Most things that come out on Ed Banger Records tend to stick to the tried old formula of hitting the kids with noisy electro and disco. It takes a special character to come out and put all the old ways behind them, to toss the rule book out of the proverbial window and stand up and shout, “I’m not going to take this anymore!” This special someone is Mr. Oizo. |
| Native Instruments releases True Strike Tension Posted: 18 Nov 2008 01:00 PM CST The latest Native Instruments’ Kore Soundpack, True Strike Tension, combines world percussion instruments from Africa, Japan, and the Middle East, then adds a cinematic element that focuses on suspense and mystery. We think that’s an interesting combination with quite a bit of potential – and the demos on the NI website certainly support that. Created in collaboration with notable sound design company ProjectSAM, the sounds in True Strike Tension make great use of the sound shaping and browsing features in Kore 2 and the free Kore Player. |

Biatch Corp are also another gang who deserve respect for bringing cutting-edge techno artists to NYC and as you can see from this promo video, Biatch Crop have now set up their own record label, Biatch Corp Recordings. Good for them. |

I think he'd like to do something with the same personnel possibly next year." |
| Posted: 18 Nov 2008 04:37 AM CST Even though dubstep finds its roots in experimental UK garage production, there's been a shift of certain prouctions towards the deeper end of techno and Basic Channel sounds. Scuba’s 'A Mutual Antipathy' demonstrates this with a move away from more conventional associations of the genre, leaning more towards the electronic, techno edge of things. |
