| Cube: London’s new club in Shoreditch Posted: 02 Oct 2008 09:12 PM CDT Out with the old, in with the new. That's the way London's club scene has been moving recently with the closure of Turnmills, The End, The Cross, The Key and Canvas in recent months. For a while it seemed like there was nowhere new for London's electronic music fans to congregate, but then the people behind Fabric opened Matter, and from this weekend Shoreditch will have a new dance spot in the form of the Cube. Cube is located at 55-61 Tabernacle Street, and from the looks of things, its owners hope to mop up some of the more clued-up London clubbers with a musical policy of nu disco and indie dance. Best of all, Cube is free to get into. |

The reception to these, whilst initially optimistic, have often post-event become simply a question of "why?" Good line-ups have meant tickets have sold out, yet poor sound, heavy-handed security and inadequate public amenities have recently meant that any carnival spirit has been replaced with sighs and shrugs and promises to one's self not to return the following year. |
| Business Acumen - In Flagranti Posted: 02 Oct 2008 02:53 PM CDT Call it what you will – cosmic disco, nouveau-no-wave, Italo-audio-porno. But the current revival of ‘70s-era dancefloor music the way the underground heads experienced it, is a family-orchestrated affair. Read this music recommendation on Beatportal |
