| News | Kenny Larkin releases new album Posted: 29 Aug 2008 03:01 PM CDT After a bit of delay, the venerable Kenny Larkin of Detroit fame has a new album to be released on September 2nd titled 'Keys, Strings and Tambourines', on Carl Craig's Planet E label. Larkin states that it's his most dancefloor-oriented album yet, and he actually did a bit of globe-trotting to find inspiration: Carl's proper studio environment in Detroit found him hammering away, and while in Australia on tour he found enough head space to create ‘Glob Glob’, one of the singles he is particularly fond of. |

Gaiser, Magda, Heartthrob, Marc Houle, Troy Pierce and Hawtin are often called the Minus family, so close is the bond between them all. “All the artists on Minus came to the label through different paths,” says Richie. “The funny thing is, all of the guys in the family grew up through the early Plus 8 and Plastikman parties. “The whole team attended these early Plastikman/Hawtin parties, and became inspired to get deeper into music. “Between all of us now, it’s like there is this feedback loop between being inspired and inspiring.” How did the artists on Minus come to meet Richie Hawtin? |
