Originally released on Happy Music, 'Pjanoo' became a hot record for DJs like Pete Tong on the island, and now that the record has been snapped up by Ministry of Sound's sub label Data the charts beckon. | News | A Guy Called Gerald re-released ’Black Secret Technology’ Posted: 26 Aug 2008 12:05 PM CDT 1995 was a good year for drum and bass (or jungle, as many people still called it back then). Even though most people probably think of Goldie's groundbreaking and commercially successful debut album ’Timeless', there was another album, that shook (not just) the drum and bass world that year: A Guy Called Gerald's ’Black Secret Technology', which came out six months prior to ’Timeless'. Thirteen years after its inital release, the album got re-released and is also available digitally for the first time [check it out in the player after the jump]. |

| News | Sony to cause train wrecks with Xross Fade iPod mix system Posted: 26 Aug 2008 04:18 AM CDT Sony may be the brains behind the Walkman, but their new "DJ style music system" Xross Fade will surely fail. Designed for mixing between two iPods, the $500 system doesn't come anywhere close to offering to what the company claims is a system that allows DJs to "Mix two songs or fade into the next song without missing a beat." For a start, the system doesn't offer any pitch control over tracks played from iPods, so unless you're some kind of freak who enjoys train wrecks the Xross Fade is pretty useless. |
