News | Magda’s thoughts on Ibiza

Posted: 26 Jun 2008 09:53 PM CDT

At Ibiza's Amnesia club on Monday we bumped into Polish-born minimal/techno DJ Magda at Cocoon. As part of the Minus crew, Magda is considered one of the top techno DJs in the world, so I asked her what she thinks of Ibiza. "I love Ibiza," she says. "It is a little cheesy on some parts of the island but every time I play here people seem so happy and excited to be here which, for a DJ, makes it very fun to play. "Plus at Cocoon, I can play what I want which is important." After the break there's a video filmed from the DJ booth in Amnesia's terrace of Magda dropping a super-hot new Marc Houle track!

News | Ibiza: a virgin’s guide #3 (Space: the final frontier)

Posted: 26 Jun 2008 07:03 PM CDT

I was depressed as hell yesterday, having been to the self-titled "Biggest Club In The World" – Privilege – which was full of British chavs, a stinking cess-pit of a swimming pool, crass "laughing gas" stalls selling balloons full of nitrous oxide, closed rooms and echoes of a time when Ibiza was fresh, new and free. Then I went to a night at Space called La Troya, and can gladly confirm that the legend of Ibiza is alive and well: orgasmic music, ribcage-rattling sound systems, carefree, hedonistic vibes, waves of beautiful people and the knowledge that you couldn't be having a better time anywhere else in the world.
